In the lead up to their double A-Side launch shows in September, Melbourne-based indie progressive-rock outfit, Fan Girl, have just unveiled their impressive brand new single 'NoLita' - recorded at guitarist Vincent McIntyre's house and mixed by James Cecil (Architecture In Helsinki/Super Melody).
'NoLita' is truly an eclectic cut; combining the punk-rock angst of Fugazi with staccato-like rhythms of The Mars Volta, which are further complimented by circus-esque organs that play a pivotal role in the song's ever-changing dynamics.
The track is full of unexpected turns and twists, however to the groups credit they find a way to make it work and keep it cohesive from start-to-finish. If they keep this level of song-writing up, there will be good fortune to come for these guys.
Fan Girl will also be unveiling an accompanying video in the coming week, so keep your eyes out for that and in the interim sit back and enjoy 'NoLita'.
