Melbourne-based indie-rock group, Postblue, have just unveiled their dream-laden and psych-rock infused cut ‘Love To Praise You’ – A bold and impressive move that shines a light on their ever-evolving creative development, which has earned them a reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists.
Recorded with renowned Melbourne-based producer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Eagle & The Worm), ‘Love To Praise You’ sees the band meld their staple influences of The Pixies, The Smashing Pumpkins with glimmers of hazy modern day psych-rock likened to Babe Rainbow and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.
Front man Riley McEvoy describes the motivation behind the track -
“The title of the song is completely literal to the message; it's about praising the one you love. Although I'm not religious, I chose to use religious terms and imagery because I feel they provoke strong thoughts and feelings. I think having a really deep devotion to someone is one of the most beautiful things in the world."
In the past, Postblue have been strongly supported via local press and by triple j who unearthed the act as part of their 2013 Splendour In The Grass competition, securing them a spot on the prestigious festival lineup alongside The National and TV On The Radio.
The three-piece are no stranger to the touring circuit and have maintained a consistent approach to traversing the countryside with every release. Along their travels they’ve also supported the likes of heavyweights Violet Soho, The Smith Street Band and were invited to perform at the Poison City Weekender in 2015.
