After delighting the world with their synth-driven power ballad ‘Soldiers’ supported by triple j and the blog community, Melbourne-based indie-pop darlings, Swim Season have just unveiled the follow up with shining cut ‘Gold Cloak City’ pulled from their debut EP ‘Cascades’.
Led by a meticulously arranged and eclectic intro, ‘Gold Cloak City’ continues to build through its first verse laced with beautifully balanced falsettos before it’s soaring chorus hits, which is driven by powerful instrumentation and harmonious vocal hooks reminiscent of indie-pop favourites Group Love, The Wombats and Two Door Cinema Club.
In celebration of releasing the follow up single, the band has also unveiled a live acoustic version, which features a stunning visual backdrop overlooking Eastern View beach in Aireys Inlet, Victoria.
Swim Season will set out to perform three launch shows in March to coincide with the release in Melbourne and at The Hills Are Alive #8 festival in South Gippsland alongside Bad//Dreems, Tired Lion, Bootleg Rascal and Ngaiire.
