Following on from the release of their critically praised new single ‘Silver Ray’, Melbourne-based indie-rock trio Halcyon Drive have just revealed the accompanying video.

Shot by Corey Millard at Melbourne Park Tennis Centre, and directed and edited by the group themselves, the compelling clip captures the upbeat pace and features striking stop motion visuals synchronised to the beat of the track.

Band members Michael Oechsle and Max Pamieta describe the motivation behind the clip:

“The Silver Ray clip concept spawned from identifying what could be called an urban blank canvas; empty spectator seats. By focusing on motion and movement, we hoped to translate the energy and buoyancy of the song, more visual than narrative. Something creative, fresh and fun. It was the most fun we've had doing a clip so far”.

Since the release of ‘Silver Ray’, the song has been supported by Australian radio stations triple j, SYN Fm, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide and Edge Radio, and worldwide tastemaker blogs Indie Shuffle (USA), Podcart (UK), We Love That (GER), Niche Music (JAP), Red Bull Music and Pilerats.

Halcyon Drive recently launched ‘Silver Ray’ to enthusiastic crowds at The Workers Club, Melbourne and The Hills Are Alive festival. The band will continue on performances in April with headlining shows in Wollongong, Byron Bay and in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney as part of the Rare Finds indie club night tour circuit.
